- Josh: “We’re much closer as a band and as friends now than we ever have been. There have been times when we weren’t getting along, whereas now we’re so much stronger we found it easier to critique each other. I thought I’d nailed the track Wild Ones vocally and lyrically but the rest of the band sat me down on my birthday of all days and said, ‘We know you have plans today but you’ve not produced the goods on this one’. If they’d said that to me a few years before I’d have told them to go f*** themselves, but there’s a maturity to our relationships now that wasn’t there before. I really didn’t want to let the side down, so I told them to give me some time to see what I could come up with. I took the song out into the garden and sat around listening to the music for hours until I got something. I ended up running into the studio shouting ‘Neal, Neal, get a vocal mic set up right now.” and we just nailed it. Looking back, I think it’s cool that we can be comfortable enough with each other to be able to say when we think one of us can do better.”
